The Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of China University of Mining and Technology is an independent research platform established by CUMT in 2020. The Institute is committed to the scientific research and achievement transformation of artificial intelligence + industry applications, and provides artificial intelligence scientific research technical service support for the professional development of disciplines. It is an open, shared, unique and prominent application-oriented scientific research platform for the whole school, with industry characteristics and popular fields. The research institute has an office area of 1,600 square meters and several artificial intelligence related research centers.The institute implements the dean's responsibility system, and currently has 30 teachers. The operation mode is the appointment of personnel, the loosening of performance appraisal, and the integration of the training of masters and doctors.

CUMT has a major in artificial intelligence. At present, it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei to cooperate in joint laboratories, ICT academies, and 5G+ mining applications, with broad development prospects.
